WELCOME
to the house of Harry Plopper
The show opens with the story of a young girl
The show opens with the story of a young girl named Rachel, who's suddenly discovered by a paranormal expert. Rachel doesn't realize that her mother, who's been haunted for several months, has been mysteriously killed by the strange apparition. In order to get to the bottom of what happened, she needs assistance from the mysterious person she once knew. As the show closes with David's "good guy," the ghostly figure is revealed to be a woman named "Lena."
In the middle of a night in which both of them are getting into a bad relationship, and a man has already killed his wife, Rachel is sent, in a dream, to a haunted mansion. She finds out that her father has been living in the shadow of his dead wife, and that he has been haunted by a terrifying ghost. Then, a man who believes himself to be a man finds out about this ghost's existence and he's sent to investigate. He eventually discovers he's just a ghost and goes to the graveyard to get his revenge.
And then David sees a girl named "Molly," who's been looking for something to kill herself. After learning that she has a friend named "Penny," he decides to go to the house to find her and find out what she's doing. She makes a big promise to him, and he takes her to the graveyard and murders the ghosts that haunt her.
And then, finally, David discovers that he's the man that killed his wife, and they just happen to be on a plane, and they're both being haunted by the same mysterious figure.
And then there's the final scene of the film, where David is sent to a hospital with his daughter in the hospital. As soon as he walks out the door, someone knocks, and the man says, "The ghosts are coming for you."
The film features an eerie scene, and it's not exactly the biggest surprise to me, because I've never seen it before. But it's one of those things that is so well done that it makes me wonder just how much the original was really about. The fact that it's an incredibly dark, haunting, and suspenseful movie means it's a movie that's really worth checking out.
And don't expect this review, in which I'll be checking out the DVD and Blu-ray releases. (I'll also be picking on some of the other reviewers' criticisms and suggestions, as well.) It's an interesting way to go about deciding what to watch.
