The idea for Dune comes from the film's director John Trotter, who has been writing about sci-fi for many years, and in a recent interview with Variety he explained why he took the chance on this project:

"I love science-fiction, and I was really interested that the character of Dune was something really interesting, and I was really excited to see what sort of world we're going to create," said Trotter. "I think about it this way: I feel like this is going to be a kind of sci-fi where we're not really going to have a lot of characters and there's so much going on. There's so much going on in a lot of these other movies, and we're going to have this kind of mythology woven around a lot of these characters. I think that's what's going to appeal to people. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch, and I'm looking forward to seeing it."

So far, the film is set in the United States, but director George Lucas has said that he will try to keep it in the United States.

A man who said he was murdered by 'evil people' has now been charged with the murder of his fiancee with a knife.

Andrew McDonough, 24, took to Facebook to express his shock over the death of his fiancee.

He, now aged 37, said: "My heart has broken for the fiancee's family and friends over this horrific tragedy.

"The sad, horrible story behind this sad, tragic death of their beloved fiancee will be the focus of my life's work.

"I have been looking forward to working with local and international partners to bring this whole story to light and I know there is so much we can do.
