The FDA's "active ingredient testing" standard for food products was recently tightened up. In order to better detect and diagnose foodborne illnesses, the agency said, companies must test ingredients in samples of ingredients for more than three months before they will be added to food.
The company also said that the FDA has not been able to find a single instance in which it has found “high levels of contamination.
Last week, FDA officials announced that they had ordered the recall of over 1,000 products for children in the U.S. who have not received food safety and health benefits from the medications.A day after the U.S. Supreme Court confirmed that a Wisconsin man who was acquitted of a rape charges is in police custody, the Wisconsin Supreme Court rejected the state's claim that she was acquitted.
"As previously noted, the Supreme Court of Wisconsin does not grant an individual a Miranda rights defense," wrote Chief Judge James T. Ritter in the dissent by Justice Antonin Scalia. "So we are not convinced that any of the defendants in this case were properly acquitted of the charge of rape."
The Wisconsin Supreme Court held that the state was not required to prove that she was innocent because she was not a danger to herself or others. The decision, which was supported by the Wisconsin State Bar Council in the case, is a victory for the Wisconsin Right to Life Committee.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court's ruling comes weeks after President Obama praised the Wisconsin Supreme Court's decision.
