'The defendants, along with their managers, intentionally deceive consumers regarding the efficacy of their purported 'feline weight-loss remedy and the quality and effectiveness of their products and its effectiveness as a weight-loss medicine.'

And it's not just some fake reviews. The claims in question were "not based on scientific evidence," the FTC said in its complaint.

"The Defendants did not provide any evidence demonstrating that the products are effective or beneficial for weight loss," the FTC said. "The Defendants also failed to provide information about how the products or their efficacy can be evaluated for health purposes," it added.

After the company's products went on sale, the FTC said it received complaints from people who had bought fake reviews, not from those who purchased actual testimonials from the company.

Cure Encapsulations has said in the FTC's lawsuit that customers who bought the "Feline-Weight-Lifting-Nutritional-Medication" product can use the same product instead of the "Feline-Weight-Lifting-Nutritional-Meals-Weight Control" product.

The products they've purchased include the "Gastrointestinal Solution", "Feline Nutrition Formula" and "Feline Nutrition Formula 2.5" with a "Nutritional Value" of 5.5, according to the FTC's complaint. The FTC said that the "Feline-Weight-Lifting-Nutritional-Medication" product has "no scientific justification for the use of this product."
