In a 1998 interview with The Daily Beast, Kirk’s first love, a woman named Martha Stewart, said:

’They had a couple of times, on the set, we were on set with the show, and we went to talk about things. And the two of us were saying, 'This is a great idea, but I want to kiss for a minute.' And I said, 'Oh my god, let's do it now, because, you know, I love you so much.' I'm not sure if it was because they were saying, 'Oh, well I love you, too,' or because I was just so jealous of you. But they did kiss for a minute. Then I was like, 'So what are you talking about?' and he said, 'No, I mean, it's kind of funny, but we're just kissing for a minute,' and he said, 'Oh, wow, that's cute.' And then that's it. It’s just that they actually are kissing. (laughs)

So even though they did kiss for a minute, they didn’t kiss for more than a minute.
