If Tesla's Autosteer was supposed to prove to be more
If Tesla's Autosteer was supposed to prove to be more effective at driving better, it failed miserably. In its report dated April 7, 2017, the NHTSA report found that "autopedricks have not significantly reduced fatal crashes by 40 percent for any one car model in the past five years." For a full list of NHTSA's conclusions, see this NHTSA report, or follow the links on the left and right.
While the report does not mention Tesla's Autosteer, NHTSA is trying to convince the media to focus less on the company's safety. That may be the right thing to do, but if media outlets don't take heed, it could be one of the biggest problems with the whole car industry. When NHTSA releases its annual report, it will be up to regulators to figure out where to go from here. In the meantime, the auto industry is getting ready to start looking at how best to improve safety with electric cars, so we can all start treating each other with respect—or at least not in an arrogant way.The following posts are not from The Huffington Post or have been vetted by The Huffington Post Media Relations Committee.
A few months ago, I reported on a group of high school students in Virginia who wanted to be able to make a difference in college. They also wanted to make sure that their school was a leader in the fight for equal pay.
The group was called the "Aryan Freedom Project," and as a result, the students had to come across as anti-Black. They wanted to be able to speak and vote against the school's policies that are being promoted at the schools they studied in.
I told you this while watching the show the other evening, and I don't think you have to agree with that, but I think the idea that students of color are being treated this way and that they are being discriminated against because of their race or their social class is ridiculous.
The idea that we should just let them make up their minds and start hearing their voices is absurd, and is totally contrary to what the students did and what the school system should expect.
