I was quite pleased with this response, so I gave it another shot.

As you might expect, people are going crazy. But I won't say my company's offer was the last straw.

I'm sure we can all agree it's not.

I have to admit that I wasn't expecting the same level of enthusiasm that I was expecting from a company that's already trying to help its customers get around VPNs. I'm sure many of you will be happy to hear I was wrong. But at the same time, we needed to think outside the box and make sure I didn't just make a bunch of stupid assumptions that made it impossible to test out my own VPNs. For that, we need to talk with customers.

While it won't be easy, I know that it's possible. I've been using a bunch of VPNs for a little while now, and at this point I'm pretty sure I've tested out many more. I'll probably have more time to do that, but I'm sure a few of you who've tried to use VPNs before will be able to tell you the benefits and drawbacks of using them without having to go through that process.

I have to say that I'm a little surprised that I don't already have plenty of other options, but I think it's the right thing to do to try to build a community around one of our most popular services, and I hope to continue doing so as soon as I have more information:
