AMY GOODMAN: The first of four hearings on President Trump's executive order barring refugees and visitors to the United States, announced by President Trump on Friday, will be held on Friday, November 6, from noon to 6 p.m. in Washington, D.C., while President Putin seeks to get to know his people. But what do you think about what you're hearing?
ANDREW KELLY: I think it's great to see President Putin, the president of Russia, at the hearing. This is a great opportunity to see what he's been able to build upon over the years. He's been successful and he's made great strides forward. But at the same time, he's done a very little damage in some of the things he's done and that is a very good sign for Russia's security.
And so, I think we'll be seeing some interesting discussions that we're going to hear from both sides of the border in the coming months. One of the questions I am going to be asked in the coming months is about who is the target of this order. What are your concerns? What do you think about Russia's intentions? And I think that this is an especially important issue because it's a very difficult question to answer.
AMY GOODMAN: That's Jim Bakker, co-founder and CEO of the American Enterprise Institute, the pro-refugee group behind the president's executive order. How much do you think was actually harmed?
JIM BAKTER: First of all, we're disappointed—we are disappointed that President Putin will take a very hard look at this order and be very unhappy. We are very disappointed that his people of the United States will be forced to pay a very heavy price for their policy toward Russia. And I think that that is a shame because it really is a terrible system of behavior.
