WELCOME
to the house of Harry Plopper
A bit of a spoiler is that I am not
A bit of a spoiler is that I am not going to spoil this, with any additional spoilers, because I'm looking at you, Alex, to get you through the first half of the convention, and you won't want a spoiler if you haven't attended or already know about the show yourself.
The first half of the convention was billed as "The Game Developers Expo." I was given a little book full of game concepts and an interactive play, and I'm fairly certain they were in fact the first to come out of the convention. But it's really only a small portion of the convention.
In the first half of the show, we got to see a bunch of interesting new games, including some new, new, new, new, new. I got to know them pretty well!
A couple of games from the convention, I got to play a couple, and then there was a few of the most amazing (and interesting!) games I've ever played.
The second half of the show, where I got to see all the new ideas, was really short. I played a couple of games, though, and then I got a bit to go up against a bunch of older games.
There's a lot that I didn't know about this year's event. I wasn't prepared for all the hype, and I wasn't anticipating the expected "wow factor" that this year's event brings. I'm not going to spoil what you don't know, because all I want to do is give you a few things that you might not have been aware of.
If you're not familiar with the PAX West theme, PAX is an award-winning convention that celebrates the best of what games are, and what they are not. The convention is sponsored by Microsoft, and the convention is held at Microsoft's Redmond campus. The convention features many unique gaming experiences, from the PC/Steam, console game experiences, and other experiences that all take place on the convention floor.
The convention also brings some of the biggest gaming and gaming conventions to the United States. I'm a big fan of gaming conventions, but my own experiences in my own family (and in my own personal gaming group) have been far, far more fun than those in the West.
With the convention, I'll be bringing a lot of new ideas to the audience, so I'm taking those ideas and incorporating them in the game and game design. Also, we'll be showing some new games that are coming out in the next month, so
