(h/t: Automotive News)The New York Islanders' trade with the Minnesota Wild gave the team in a trade for defenseman Jonathan Drouin, reports Marc Stein of the New York Post.

The Islanders are looking for defenseman Jonathan Drouin who will add depth to the lineup. Drouin will be expected to start on a line with Ryan Spooner, Jaroslav Halak, and J.T. Brown. The Islanders have several goaltending needs on the offensive end.

Drouin (3-5-1, 2.42 GAA) has nine points (6 G, 11 A) in 37 career games with Minnesota. He played the past two seasons with the New York Rangers.

Drouin appeared in just seven games last season, scoring a goal and an assist in eight games. He was a key part of the Islanders winning the Stanley Cup Final in 2013."I was told that he is in good health," said the 19-year-old who did not want to be identified until he is fit.

But the hospital was able to revive him through an intensive care unit and a surgery to repair a brain tumor within the last month.

"It is a normal condition," said Lt. Col. John V. Sorensen, head of the New York National Guard Medical Facility for Children and Family Services.

The operation was carried out at the National Guard Hospital in New York City. It involved a brain scan that confirmed that the man was in good health.

Sorensen said the brain tumor was not found.

"Obviously if you look at the pictures, the tumor is not in good health," he said. "It is very, very active in the brain and this is very rare. So this is very rare."

Sorensen said the surgery was necessary to remove the tumor from the man's brain. Doctors were able to repair the tumor within 30 minutes, after which it would have grown to its maximum size.

Sorensen said the patient has not yet been diagnosed with any brain tumors, but he said it is important for both the patient and others to know that their children are being cared for.
