The GT3 is also a vehicle that could make more money than the traditional road-going GT3 car, according to the latest Eurostat data. That's in stark contrast to the more expensive supercar, the BMW i8. That's because of the fact that the BMW is a more powerful car with lower emissions than the BMW i8. In contrast, the BMW i5 is one of the more expensive supercar, with a 1.5 times more exhaust.

Despite all the changes in GT3 production, it's no secret the German car maker needs the money to make the cars to compete in the world championships.

"I think we need to continue to grow, if we are going to have competitively competitive GT3," says Porsche Car Group CEO Daniel Ricciardo, who recently won a Porsche 911 Carrera Cup title in the European GT3 Championship in Abu Dhabi. "We are trying to find the time for the next generation of sports cars in the next car generation. We are looking at this new generation of GT3s, because they are going to be very popular around the world."

Ricciardo reckons that GT3s are about to take off at a new level.

"I think that we are a very competitive team," he says. "The only way we can win the World Championship is if we win the World Championship."

The team will try to build the cars as fast as possible, using advanced technology in a car that is not as competitive as the GT3.

"We will be able to test the car in Formula One, the F1 world championship," Ricciardo explains. "In Formula 1, it's a very difficult race, but as soon as you get out of the car there is no point in trying to do any type of driving. We will be able to do it on a daily basis."

Ricciardo sees the opportunity, but not as long as the traditional GT3 teams. According to his team, the Porsche GT3 will offer the same level of performance as the BMW i8 at just a tenth of the price, despite being made for the World Championship. It's not the only car on offer in this new generation of supercars, there are some other models on the market now, such as the Ferrari 458 Italia that are still in production in the USA and in the UK.
