(Spoilers for the 2011 movie below.)
The first scene, which is quite similar to our first glimpse of Ronan's character, is the one we all knew about before. He's standing on a cliff at night, and he sees something. He doesn't know what, but he does know that he has a secret. He starts to scream and run for his life, only to be confronted by a white bear. "Oh my God, this is it! This is so scary!" He jumps. The bear tries to run away, but it only gets so big that it falls to the ground. He's thrown from the cliff and dies. But that's all that's left of the scene, and we've never seen anything of his real identity before, even if we saw it as a very short, and very short, shot.

As the scene moves along, we're left with a very brief glimpse of Ronan's other side, though it only makes sense that the bear was there for quite a bit of the story. He's clearly trying to get away as much as possible, and the scene in the first half of the film shows that he's not that kind of guy. He's a psychopath, like the other wolves in the forest, who just wants to take the kids away from their mother. He makes it clear when the kids are left alone that he's no friend. He's a violent psychopath, who uses his knowledge of the world to his advantage, and he's been fighting a fight until the very end.

The final scene of the film centers around Ronan and his team of hunters, who are trying to stop the bear. The first scene, about what a bear looks like, is a bit more subdued, but the second shot is much closer to the action, with Ronan standing on a cliff, screaming and running for his life. "Oh my God, this is it! This is it! This is it!"
