And then there's the fact that Game of Thrones is actually pretty good. The series, which launched in 2007 with six episodes and is currently pacing a five-season run, has sold nearly 4 million copies across all of North America and over 2 million streams on Xbox Live, PlayStation, Amazon, and Netflix. And the show's main story arcs, which run from the very beginning to the final season, are almost always well-executed and often take place in the same world of Westeros.
But there are some really cool things about Game of Thrones, including the story arc. While Martin, a former King of the Seven Kingdoms whom the show ultimately decides to kill, has been a true love of the show and his love for Westeros, there is something even more important about the story. He's one of the show's most accomplished and passionate characters, and he's also the one who keeps it fresh.
But before we get on to the more interesting stuff, there are a few things we should know first. On top of that, Game of Thrones is only five episodes long. Of those five episodes, only one is about the battle between the Stark family and the Lannisters, and that's the final battle of the season. The rest of the show is really just a short episode and we'll probably be seeing at least one more episode before it's over.
The Game of Thrones season finale isn't exactly what we'd hoped it would be, but it's still a solid start to the season.
Season three of the HBO series premieres on September 9.
